The pattern of the modern fairy tale soap opera is always the same: Poor girl, represented in warm bright colors falls in love with unattainable fairy tale prince from a wealthy family who is already a promised to a suitable wife. He bows to the convention and marries her. The rival must die before her place is freed for the heroine. The heroine accepts her fate without mourning – always secretly hoping that their love will succeed in the end.
